DR. SANJEEV NAIK CREATES HISTORY – WINS THANE CONSTITUENCY BY MARGIN OF 49000 VOTES

This isn’t the first time that he has created history and this one is as prestigious and big as the last time. Dr. Sanjeev Naik – the NCP-Congress-RPI-Samajwadi party candidate from Thane constituency has created history by winning the Thane constituency. The win can easily be termed as a thumping victory as Dr. Sanjeev Naik beat his rival saffron alliance candidate by 49020 votes. We bring to you all the moments from the counting center at Thane with this report.

After 25 years if anyone could rock Sena fortress Thane and capture Thane – it could only be Ganesh Naik. That’s why it’s the victory of Navi Mumbai NCP Supremo Ganesh Naik’s magic and goodwill among the masses backed by the dent created in the saffron alliance vote bank by the MNS factor that Dr. Sanjeev Naik has been elected to the parliament from the Thane constituency with a clear majority of 49020 votes. Early morning saw all the three main candidates arrive at the voting center, which included NCP-Congress-RPI-Samajwadi Party candidate Dr. Sanjeev Naik, BJP-Shiv Sena candidate Vijay Chougule who arrived with MLA Eknath Shinde at the venue and MNS candidate Rajan Raje along with most of the other 30 candidates who filed their nominations from the Thane constituency. Another prominent candidate that no one missed was Mangesh Khade – the third gender candidate from this constituency.

From the moment the counting began at the counting center at Thane, the lead to the NCP candidate Dr. Sanjeev Naik started with a few thousands votes. After the third round, anticipating a defeat, Shiv Sena – BJP candidate Vijay Chougule made a silent exit from the counting center. As the counting proceeded, every round kept mounting the lead for Dr. Sanjeev Naik. By noon, it was clear that the win for the UPA candidate was definite and that the counting would only seal the number of votes with which Dr. Sanjeev Naik would beat his nearest rival. While many expected MNS candidate Rajan Raje to put up a good show – Rajan Raje went beyond expectations as he garnered an average of over 5000 votes in each of the 25 rounds of the counting sessions. And finally secured a huge 1, 34, 840 votes. No points for guessing that this was a direct dent to the saffron vote bank that procured 2, 51, 980 votes. By the end of the counting session – the Rajan Raje factor became the single biggest reason for the victory of Dr. Sanjeev Naik with the final results of the Thane constituency looking like this :
NCP’S DR. SANJEEV NAIK – 3, 01, 000 votes
SHIV SENA’S VIJAY CHOUGULE – 2, 51, 980 votes
MNS’s RAJAN RAJE – 1, 34, 840
The presiding election officer made the formal announcement of Dr. Sanjeev Naik’s election as the Member of Parliament from the Thane constituency. Dr. Sanjeev Naik walked in the counting center as a young veteran party leader of NCP but he walked out of the counting center as seasoned MP Dr. Sanjeev Naik who has again created history by becoming the first MP from Navi Mumbai.

FACTORS TO DR. SANJEEV NAIK’S VICTORY

He went, he saw, he conquered – that’s the story of this young man who has conquered Thane – that is believed to be the Shiv Sena castle. While there are many factors that lead to the victory of NCP’s Dr. Sanjeev Naik in Thane constituency, there is no denying that Dr. Sanjeev Naik has achieved what many believed was unachievable. And credit for this first and foremost goes to Navi Mumbai’s first family – the Naik family’s work of continuously promoting secularism & brotherhood in Navi Mumbai. The work done by the Naik family headed by Ganesh Naik in presenting the secular & vibrant image of Navi Mumbai at all levels is incomparable. The results of these elections are a proof that voters across Thane constituency have acknowledged his work and have great respect & affection for the Naik family.

And the secular magic of Ganesh Naik has spread from Navi Mumbai to the entire Thane constituency. Besides this, Sharad Pawar’s road show and dal bal efforts with two sabhas in this constituency also hit the right chords with the voters.

This clubbed with the last Raj Thackeray rally in Thane turned the tables around for Dr. Sanjeev Naik. It may be recalled that Raj Thackeray’s last rally’s impact came as a bolt to Shiv Sena as the MNS Chief not only gave a powerful address in Thane but also brought the family of slain Vilas Jadhav on stage appealing the voters to do justice to the family by not voting for the Shiv Sena candidate. It is after this rally, that many believed that MNS candidate would do well and he did as Rajan Raje secured over 1 lac 35 thousand votes. And at the end of it all – the victory could definitely not have been possible for the credentials of the candidate himself. Dr. Sanjeev Naik’s experience and work record as the first Mayor of Navi Mumbai, his hard work, clean image and educational qualifications appealed massively to voters. May be that’s why in an interview with NMTV News itself, Dr. Sanjeev Naik had voiced confidence of a victory. The tradition of secularism & communal harmony is the hallmark of the Naik family & Dr. Sanjeev Naik makes one believe that it is being followed generation to generation. The results have proved that the support to the Naik family was never as heady and strong as it is now.

INTELLIGENCE BUREAU REPORT SPELLS DISASTER FOR CONGRESS – NCP IN MAHARASHTRA IN LOK SABHA POLLS

It's a report that the Congress leaders are dreading to talk about and is giving them the worst nightmares as far as the situation in Maharashtra is concerned. In what may come as a rude shock to the Congress, a confidential report culled from inputs given by various intelligence agencies has predicted a devastating debacle for the ruling Cong-NCP combine saying the BJP-Shiv Sena will walk away with 28 of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state leaving only half, that is 14 seats for it. Authoritative government sources say that various reasons like voter apathy, resentment against the candidates, dissatisfaction with the ruling combine, and presence of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and the Bahujan Samaj Party in the fray were responsible for the likely surprises on May 16, the day the counting takes place. Incidentally, two days ago NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that the results could open a bag of surprises. The report predicts the fall of heavyweights like Milind Deora, Gurudas Kamat in Mumbai. The report is a result of two months of efforts by government officials who mingled with the electorate, attended public rallies, chatted with party cadres, voters, civil and police officials. Here is a look at the predictions made by Intelligence Bureau :
BJP-SS: 28
Cong-NCP-RPI: 14
MNS: 1
Others: 5
Total : 48
PREDICTIONS:
Mumbai/Thane: BJP-SS: 6
Cong-NCP: 3
Mumbai North: Ram Naik (BJP) beats Sanjay Nirupam (Cong)
Mumbai North West: Gajanan Kirtikar (SS) beats Gurudas Kamat (Cong)
Mumbai Northeast: Kirit Somaiya (BJP) beats Sanjay Patil (NCP)
Mumbai North Central: Priya Dutt (Cong) beats Mahesh Jethmalani (BJP)
Mumbai South Central: Eknath Gaikwad (Cong) beats Suresh Gambhir (SS)
Mumbai South: Mohan Rawle (SS) beats Milind Deora (Cong)
Kalyan: Anand Paranjape (SS) beats Vasant Davkhare (NCP)
Thane: Sanjeev Naik (NCP) beats Vijay Chowgule (SS)
Palghar: Baliram Jadhav (IND) beats Damudar Shingada (Cong) and Chintaman Vanaga (BJP)
Bhiwandi: Jagannath Patil (BJP) beats Suresh Tawre (Cong)
Konkan: Raigad: Anant Gite (SS) beats AR Antulay (Cong)

While the intelligence bureau report spells disaster for Congress – NCP in Lok Sabha polls, it definitely is bringing smiles to the NCP camp in the Thane constituency as it predicts a victory for their candidate Dr. Sanjeev Naik.

The Intelligence Bureau report comes in complete contradiction of political analysts who say that its advantage BJP-Shiv Sena candidate Vijay Chougule in the Thane constituency. For the IB report is in favour of Dr. Sanjeev Naik predicting that the NCP-Congress-RPI alliance candidate Dr. Sanjeev Naik would beat Shiv Sena BJP candidate Vijay Chougule in the Thane constituency. This report that is a rude shock to Shiv Sena – BJP leadership in Thane constituency has been made after taking inputs of various intelligence agencies. Government officials mingled with the electorate, attended public rallies, chatted with party cadres, voters apart from civil and police officials after predicting this result. If the Intelligence Bureau report does turn out to be true, the Congress and NCP might face their worst nightmares at many constituencies but as far as Thane constituency is concerned, it might just turn out to be a pleasant surprise. And if Dr. Sanjeev Naik does win, the credit of the victory apart from the credentials of the candidate would go to Sharad Pawar four day camp in the constituency towards the end and NCP Navi Mumbai Supremo Ganesh Naik’s goodwill among the masses.
